When Mark Hines and I were concepting features for the Spiegel Internet Magazine, I suggested to Mark that we solicit stories from our Spiegel co-workers about their favorite Chicago neighborhoods. I thought we could publish these little vignettes on the net to let our readers about the town that Spiegel calls home, and to give our colleagues achance to have fun on the 'net.
